What’s Under the Hood: Power, Voltage, and Size
At the heart of this system is a high-intensity shortwave infrared tube, designed to deliver concentrated energy in a flash. It runs on 400V and pulls serious current to generate intense heat—so intense that it responds in under a second and evaporates water almost instantly. The 300mm length isn’t random. It’s just long enough to cover a standard coating width, but compact enough to slip into tight spaces on the line. The Materials and Design: Halogen, Quartz, and the R7s Link
We went with a halogen-filled quartz envelope because it can handle the extreme filament temperatures needed for that shortwave output. This setup keeps the heat focused in the infrared spectrum, which cuts right through the water film without dumping extra heat into the glass. The tube’s coating is tuned to manage the light spectrum, too—so it avoids wavelengths that could shift the coating color. And the R7s connector? It’s the practical choice for this shape. It gives you a secure, two-point connection that’s easy to wire, and it stays aligned even when things vibrate or heat up and cool down. It’s a reliable, drop-in piece that works.

Out on the shop floor, this setup means you can run your line faster while using less gas or electricity per square meter. Now, the one thing to keep in mind is heat management. A 400V, 2500W halogen lamp throws off serious localized heat, so your machine’s cooling system needs to be up to the task.
